Throwing my blog away

The time has come for my next website revamp, and this time,
everything goes to trash.

Along with my old Wordpress blog of 4 years, this includes my
(much-outdated) portfolio from my freelance photography days, and even
my old, pre-old Blogger blog that I kept mainly for sentimental
reasons.

Having maintained this site in its varying iterations over the past 6
years, I realise it had become an unwieldy presence that had outgrown
my abilities in keeping it streamlined.

There was the frankenstein CSS that I cobbled together over the years,
layering new feature over the last each time I spotted something I
envied on another blog; there were the writing conventions I was
keeping to only for consistency's sake—I can't explain how relieved I
am to finally move from title caps to sentence capping for each post's
header, for example.

And in weighing the many options online, reaching the final duel, as
it may, between Tumblr and Posterous, I've chosen the latter.

I thought it'd be more painful ripping out my site and replacing it
entirely with this veritable vaccuum (for now, at least). But it feels
good, and I expect will reinvigorate me to blog more without having to
face the daunting task of crafting an entire feature article each
time.

So now my old Wordpress behemoth will be reduced to this downgraded
cleanliness. And in many ways, it is an upgrade.
